Greetings Saint Ambrose Community,

Welcome to the 2009/2010 school year!

I look forward to an exciting, fun school year.

Kinders- Will be working on a book about art. We will begin with the cover. 
The students will be introduced to the circle family, the dot family, the 
straight line family, the curvy line family, and the angle line family. They 
will use these families to decorate the front and back cover of their book. 
The first page of the book will use the primary colors.

First Grade- Nature will be the inspiration (fire flies and dragon flies)for 
our watercolor resist project.

Second Grade- Will have fun creating a collage scarecrow, from paper plates, 
construction paper, material scraps, and raffia.

Third Grade, Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade, Sixth Grade, and Seventh Grade-
Will be creating an art portfolio. This project will be due the week of 
September 22nd.
following rubric will be used:

Use of Lines (1-10)
Use of Patterns (1-10)
Use of Color (1-10)
Craftsmanship (1-10)
Name is part of design. (1-10)

Eigth graders installed their Pinwheels for Peace after the Junior High Mass 
on Tuesday, September 22nd. If you did not get a chance to see them spinning 
you can check out the Pinwheels for Peace photo galler. 8th graders will be 
using the next two weeks of class time to create an art portfolio.
