What is the history of St. Agnes School? St. Agnes opened in Sept. 1960. It consisted of grades 1-8 and was staffed by Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls. In 1984, grades 7 and 8 were discontinued and Kindergarten was added. In 1985 the preschool program began. It is now a preschool-grade 6 school-offering all day everyday Kindergarten and preschool on M-W-F. What is the current student enrollment? Our student enrollment is 60 students K-6 and 19 in preschool. What is the average class size? The average class size for K-2 is 10 students. Grades 3-6 are combined classrooms ranging from 10-17 students. Is fundraising a part of St. Agnes? Fundraising is a HUGE part of St. Agnes School! Fundraising helps to bring additional dollars to our school budget and builds school spirit. Many parents enjoy fundraising as a way to get to know other families. Our school community works as a team when we fundraise! School fundraisers include:Workathon, Fish Fry, Carnival, Spring Fling and Parish Festival Auction. Does St. Agnes have a preschool program? Yes, our preschool program is open to children ages 3-5. It operates M-W-F from 8:00-11:30 a.m. Please contact the teacher, Mrs. Boushek for more info. Who is responsible for policies and major decision making? The St. Agnes School Board of Education is responsible for making policies which govern the school. Six members of the parish/school community are elected to this board. Current members include:Molly Oeltjen, Nikki Leaunart, Mike Petrich, Bob Kulzer, Bev Paul and Shari Klukken. Yes, St. Agnes is accredited though the Minnesota Nonpublic Accrediting Association. Our school is unique because our student body is represented by many different religions including Catholic students. We welcome all Christians! |
