RELIGION NEWS

Happy autumn to all!  After all the years I have resided here in Minnesota I am still in awe at the beauty of the changing leaves.  What great gifts the Lord has given us!

October 19th through the 23rd, is our annual unit discussing the dignity of life as 7th and 8th graders observe Respect Life Week.  We will be preparing posters which will be on display in the Junior High wing starting Thursday after school, October 22nd.

This past month, the seventh grade finished a chapter on the symbols of Baptism.  We will have a chapter test the week of Oct. 26th.  Look on my web site page titled Assignments to see the exact date for each homeroom.

Next up for the 7th grade is a chapter entitled “Jesus! Son of God, Son of Man” which discusses Jesus teaching in the temple at the age of about 12.  We will also look at the different literary forms found in the New Testament and how the gospel writers used these forms to convey Jesus message.

The 8th grade is busy finishing up the first four chapters about the history of our Church.  We have seen how the first Pentecost sent the apostles and all believers out into the world to spread Jesus’ message and discussed how the Council of Jerusalem opened up our hath to all.  We will be having a unit test the week of Oct. 26th.  Look for details on my assignment web page.

Next for the 8th grade is discussion of the The Edict of Milan and the first four Ecumenical Councils.

  In all a busy month!

Until next month,
