First Grade- Students will complete their Oso Pardo (Brown Bear) books and review of colors and animals. We will then move on to the Spanish alphabet and letter sounds.
Second Grade- Students will study vocabulary for the months, seasons and days of the week in Spanish using songs, movements and games. We will add clothing and weather into our unit and compare and contrast the characteristics of each season. Students will create posters for each of the four seasons.
Third Grade- Students will study family vocabulary and create their own family trees in Spanish. We will learn a family song, new games and rhymes.
Fourth Grade- We will begin a review of colors and shapes while learning new animal vocabulary. Students will discuss and describe their favorite animals or pets and participate in "Show and Tell" with the class.
Fifth Grade- Students will study telling time and numbers in Spanish. Students will have their first quiz Nov. 11th. We will then continue in our unit to review and supplement Spanish vocabulary for the parts of the body. Students will learn how to describe how they are feeling in greater detail and review direct articles.
Sixth Grade- Working in Unidad 2A, students will look at school subjects, schedules and basic -AR verb conjugations. Students will have their first quiz at the end of the month. We will put our verb conjugations to rhythm and look for patterns to aid in student learning.
7th Grade- Students will complete Unidad 3B focusing on dinner foods and ordering in a restauraunt. Students will translate a recipe and present it to the class in Spanish. The Unidad 3B quiz will be before Thanksgiving.
8th Grade- Students will work in Unidad 5B in which we will review the irregular verbs SER,ESTAR and TENER. We will compare and contrast their forms and uses through practice, songs and poems. Students will have a verb quiz Nov. 4 and Nov. 6. We will then move on to Unidad 6 (La Casa-The Home).
