My dad came home from Iraq!! We are reading Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. We played Amazing
Grace on our recorders at Mass. Field Day is Friday. Only 7 more days until school will be over.
Michael
It has been a great school year. My parents came to see us dance and perform. I am happy they
came. I am glad that I was able to come to Ms. McNamara's class this year to do math, science, and PE.
Hunter
I am very happy because it is almost the last day of school. In PE we play outside.
Frank
It is close to my birthday. I am very excited about German. We are learning about body systems.
We are getting ready for the Art Fair.
Katelyn
My favorite part of the concert was when we played our recorders. We played two songs.

I got 107 throws so I'm a Master Juggler.

In school I like the rats and the Narnia Project.
Alissa
School is going great.I'm doing great too. The rats are doing great.I want take one home but my
parents are highly disgusted by them so that's not happening.I'm reading Harry Potter right now.
Cameron
We got our rats a few weeks ago.Their are 2 rats both of the rats are girls.The rats are albino rats
each class has 1 rat Mrs.Kreger's class named their rat Pip and my class named ours Luna.Pip and
Luna are sisters.They are both white with red eyes.We also take turns holding them, feeding them and
taking 1 or 2 rats home for a weekend.It's my turn this week.YAYYYYYYY!!

We played whiffle ball for PE and recess. I have 6 juggling certificates. I am finishing my report
about Neil Armstrong.
Jacob
Last week we started Juggling. Erik and I got our masters which means we juggled 3 balls 100 times.
Erik got 123 and I got 139.
Matt Schoenbauer
We are doing a report on a person who made a difference in life.I'm doing Harry Houdini.We are
learning how to juggle in P.E.
Anna
We are working on fractions. We are doing Bible verses also. Our class is doing the Mass on
Wednesday. I broke my wrist snowboarding.

I am reading a biography about J.K Rowling for my research paper. She is my favorite author. We
are reading a story in the newspaper. Every day, there is a new chapter. We are doing fitness
tests in PE.
Mary
Roller skating is terrific! Fourth grade is going great. It is the best year I've had in school.
The teacher is good. Choir is great.
Hunter
Roller skating is fun. Sharing is fun. I have my yellow belt in Recorder Karate. I am ready for
my 50 states test. We have been doing lots of stuff in computer. I like the websites.
Jacob
I like art and PE. We are doing fairy tale scratch art. Mary, Thomas, Michael and I decorated our
flower pot with flowers. I like to roller skate.

I got my pen license. Recorder karate rocks!!!

In math we just started to use a protractor.They are really fun.Also we have a valentines day
party.With lots of candy.They are really fun.Plus we have book club my group is doing Charlie and
the Chocolate Factory.So far it is a very good book.But we listen to it on a tape recorder so it
kinda goes fast.Plus in phy ed we have been doing roller skating.It is really fun.We are writing a
story about our Ethnic Heritage. We got our pen license.Also we had to write it in cursive.

We celebrated Catholic Schools Week. Maddie and I found the medallion on Friday. It was hidden
next to the door stop between the old and the new building. Pajama Day was my favorite.
Anna
It's Catholic Schools Week. I really like the Medallion Hunt. I like not wearing uniforms.
Thomas
We have new Book Clubs. My group is reading Helen Keller's Teacher. Because of the cold weather, we
are having lots of indoor recess.
Brady
I am in Student Council, so I have been working on Catholic Schools Week projects. It is hard work,
but I still enjoy it. In class we studying the 50 states. We had our first test on the eastern
states.
Julia
We are getting recorders in music. Catholic Schools week is coming up. I am looking forward to ice
skating and Twin's Day. We are playing hockey and kickball at recess. It is very fun.
Cameron
There are two new students coming into our classroom for part of the day. One is Anna Lundeen who is
in first grade, and the other one is in second grade and her name is Jewel. I don't know her last
name.Jewel comes up to our room for word study, Friday events, German, and is doing the January
project like us. Anna is doing all the same things as Jewel except for German.
Matt
We are playing volleyball in PE. We got new groups in music. I am in the John Williams group. In
German, we played a game to help us remember the alphabet. On Fridays, we do performance groups.
My group this week is teaching the class a game.
Maddie
We are done with stitching. My Friday group is reading from a book. I'm reading from The Best
Halloween Ever. We know the whole alphabet in German. We have a new seating arrangement.
Emily
We are studying the eastern states in social. In art, we made giant snowflakes. In PE we are
learning basketball. We didn't wear boots or snowpants for recess.
Katelyn
We started German with Mr. Harty. Leah taught us about South Africa. I liked all the animal
pictures and the animals. We started stitching. It is really fun. My dad is home from Iraq!!!
Michael
I like the PA play because it was funny. Recess is fun because we get to play in the snow. I like
stitching. We started German and learned some of the alphabet.
Brady
I like stitching.

In gym we have been playing volleyball. I think it is fun. Yesterday we went to the public library.
We are writing the tree story. To do that you pick a tree or animals and then write a story about
them. We have been practicing our songs for the Christmas pageant in music.
Mary.
Kickball is fun because I get up a lot. I like lunch, because I like to eat. In math we have done a
few times tests. I think they are kind of hard. We finished a book, it was called "Scrappers". We
did a play and I was cat in the hat. I learned about bees because Mr. Slinkard came in and talked to
us. We got to try honey and crackers.
Jacob.
We have been reading newspapers. My favorite section is the source because it has the comics in it.
We are reading them because there is an article in it that we are supposed to read. In math we are
doing number sentences. Those are pretty easy, but some of them can get hard. We are reading a lot
of books. We are also doing animal reports in science. They are going well for everybody. I am
reading Hatchet right now. I think it is a very good book. The winter music program is coming up. We
are practicing songs already. Library is very fun. We are doing adopt-a-family right now. We have
one boy and two girls. In spelling we are doing add-y, add-ie, and add-ey. I have finished a lot of
books.
Cameron.
In science we are doing animal groups. It is really fun. we are going to the public library today to
check out and return books. Computer is fun. We are doing typing things. My favorite subject is phy
ed. We are doing testing right now. That is when you do a bunch of different exercises and record
how you do. we have done things like run the mile, sit ups, shuttle run, and sit and reach. Catholic
schools week is coming up. I am excited for that.
Katelyn.
We are going to the Bell Museum tomorrow. I am exciting for it because it is the first field trip of
the year and I really like field trips. We are doing animal reports. I am doing mine on a mammal. We
played lightning for recess. For the animal report we have groups. Mine is Brady, Maddie, and
Kaitlyn. In computer we get our own folders on the computers. We ran the mile in phy ed. We go to
the public library every three weeks. The next time we go is sometime next week. We have morning
meetings. For the meetings, we go back to the rug, and Ms. McNamara tells us what we are going to do
that day. We have boards in our room that we can put pictures on. In music we have groups. Groups
can earn points by getting questions right. We have to write letters to Ms. McNamara every week. We
do a lot of projects. We went into the gardens around the school and church to pull out the flowers.
We also planted some flowers. We have to color a lot of things. Ms. McNamara reads books to us, we
just finished "Love That Dog". Halloween is tomorrow. I am going to be a ghost. We do word searches.
Frank.
We are going on a field trip Oct. 31st to the Bell Museum. They have all different kinds of animals
that are stuffed. We drew with compasses in math, that was fun. We went to the public library to
check out books. We get to play with legos whenever we have recess inside or free time. We are
working on making up our own plant and presenting it. We get points for each science term we use
during our presentations. In the computer lab we get to take tests on them. It is called Learnia. We
are learning a lot of different ways to add and subtract. We have conferences this week so we are
putting together folders.
Maddie.
I liked how we ran and walked around the gym instead of going outside for the marathon. I felt
special when we were the only grade that got hats. Mine was silver with a red M on it. My favorite
classes are science, math, library, phy ed., and music. In science we finished our plant presses and
are making a poster of a made up plant. In music we are practicing E,G,B,D,F. Those are the
different bars on the bar line. In the spaces between the bars, we think of spaces rhymes with faces
and spell it out in the spaces. In phy ed. we are in the middle of our fitness testing. I like the
new library room, it is very cool. Mrs. Pleiss has a computer that we can find the books we are
looking for on. In math we just finished a test and we are learning big subtraction and big
addition. Conferences are coming up and we have a folder that has all of the stuff that we are going
to share with our parents. I am nervous for it because it is my first time leading my conference.
Julia.
We have been learning about seeds in science. In math we have been doing mental math. Last f
Friday we watched the homecoming parade, I really liked that. On Friday we also had to cancel our
class project because of the rain. Also on Friday Mrs. Kreger's daughter donated Twins hats to our
grade and also donated binders to the school. We have been practicing a play that tells about
reading strategies. We started reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.
Thomas.
I liked math when we did the compasses. We made circles and all different kinds of designs. I made a
pig. We get tallys throughout the day for doing good things like walking down the hall quietly and
behaving well. At the end of the day we get one minute of free time for each tally. I really like
that. We made happy birthday cards for St. Wenceslaus' birthday.
Ally.
This year has been a really great year so far. We finished up our plant presses and now we just have
to wait until they dry out to make our bookmarks. I like my new computer in the computer lab. I like
my new classmates this year. What I have liked is recess, phy. ed, music, and the new music teacher.
I also really like art, and science class. Hockey, basketball and kickball are my favorite things
to do on recess. My favorite lunch has been pizza. The new library is really nice. I like having a
preschool this year also. I'm very sad the Mrs. Mueller is leaving this school year. The best thing
so far about this year is my teacher, and I hope the rest of the year goes this good.

We picked flowers for our plant presses. I brought some flowers from home. I helped my dad pick them.
Anna
I tried out for Student Council. It took a lot of time to write my speech and practice.
St.Wenceslaus is a good experience for me. My dad, brother, sister and I were in the Dozinky
parade. The reporter took a picture of A.J. and me.
Emily
Today my sister came in to classroom to talk to us about student council, and gave us our
sheets for our speeches. I've been super-duper extremely totally motivated for student council and
I really hope I get in. Fourth graders have just started serving lunch. I haven't served yet but I'm
looking forward to it. We have a new music teacher. He's nice, and I have to admit, better than our
last music teacher.Speaking (or typing) of music, we still haven't done recorders yet. That's one
more thing on my list of things to look forward to. Yesterday my class had a substitute teacher
named Mrs. Handslick. I called her Mrs. H. . She had retired from teaching, and that this had been
her first time back from teaching since she had retired.So far fourth grade has been going well so
far.
