Dear Parents,
I hope that you had a very nice Thanksgiving weekend. I count you and your children among my blessings this year!
We will prepare for our Lord's birth this Advent season by participating in a short prayer service each Monday morning at 9:15 in the atrium area outside the PAC. Throughout Advent, we will encourage the students to record any good deeds, kind acts, or prayers on a piece of paper "straw." During these prayer services, our straw will be added to the manger in our growing stable. More nativity pieces, made by the preschool-8th grade students, will be added to the stable each week. I encourage you to record kind acts or prayers on your pieces of straw at home too! These can be returned to school, added to our classroom collection, and then added to the school manger on Monday mornings.
Our participation is very appreciated in the Adopt-a-Family program this year, as there is a record number of families who need assistance. Thank you for your generosity of donating toys, socks, or other items. If you or another group are interested in adopting a whole family's Christmas list, Ms. Cathy McNamara could get you the necessary information. We hope to have many toys collected by Dec. 2, but donations will be taken after this date too!
On Wednesday we will have a penance service instead of Mass for grades 3-8. I will review the procedures for Reconciliation with the students at school. It might be helpful for your child if you do this at home as well.
Thursday is the end of the first trimester, and Friday there is no school. Report cards will be sent home next week on Friday.
Updates have been made to the calendar and all the photo sections of the website. Thank you for taking a look!
Have a wonderful December and Advent season!
In Christ,
Mrs. Malecha
