 Where else can I find answers to my questions about Room 1?
Check out the "First Grade Handbook" that came home at open house or the first
day of school.  Can't find your copy?  Check out the handbook page and
download a new copy.  It does take awhile to download.

 Do the "Books in a Bag" need to be returned the next day?
PLEASE, NO!  Please allow your child to read the book 3 times over 2-3 days. 
To help your child develop as a reader, s/he should be getting a new book at
least once a week.

 Do first graders have homework?
*You and your child should read together every night for at least 20 minutes.
Each child also has a zip bag with a "Reading Log" sheet and a book to
practice reading aloud at home.  This can be part of your 20 minutes of
reading. *Other homework  may include math "Home Link" pages and/or phonics
pages.  Homework pages will be labeled "Due" and the date due.
*Please have your child do the writing that is necessary to complete the
homework.  Part of the reason for assigning the homework is to practice
penmanship.  It will also help your child to develop responsible homework
habits if s/he is doing the writing on the homework page.

Please make your check out to "Saint Wenceslaus School".  This will allow me
to send in one check from the school and simplify keeping track of my account.

We have lunch from 11:55-12:20.

 How much will lunch cost for visitors?
An adult visitor lunch will cost $4.00.  Please pay at the office when you
sign in.  You will then receive a lunch pass.
