Nov 11 - No homework for either grade. Vocab is pushed back to next Thursday
due to Mrs. Bachman's visits.
Nov 10 - Mrs. Bachman visited the 7th and 8th grade classrooms yesterday, so
no homework. 8th graders are working on group utopia projects. No homework
7th graders can do Tom Swifties for extra credit, but otherwise no homework.
Nov 5 - 7th graders have an adverb worksheet to complete for Monday.
8th graders are working in groups on a project tied to Lois Lowry's THE GIVER.
They have a spelling test on Tuesday.
November 2 - 8th graders took a phrase quiz today. They have a vocabulary test
on Chapter 1 on Thursday. All review pages from the chapter are due Thursday too.
7th graders took a spelling quiz from chapter 4 today. They have a quiz on
verbs on 11/3 = transitive verbs, intransitive verbs, linking and action verbs
and helping verbs. They also have a 10 point vocab quiz on Thursday from
section 2.1.
October 29 - Had a fabulous field trip today to the Children's Theatre and the
MIA. Ask your child about it.
8th graders will push back their 30 point vocab test to next Thursday. They
have a test on phrases on Monday.
7th graders also will push back their vocab quiz until next Thursday. They
have spelling quiz 4 on Monday. They will be quizzed on verbs on Tuesday.
October 21 - We saw Climb Theatre today. There is a vocabulary quiz for 8th
graders on Thursday the 22.
7th graders have no homework.
October 20 - 8th graders tested - their last standardized test for the fall -
today. The only homework they have is vocabulary 1.3 for Thursday.
7th graders started verbs Monday. No homework.
October 12 - 7th graders were assign a book report last week. It is due
October 28. Over MEA break, they have spelling to do - Chapter 1.
8th graders do not have any homework over the break as they quizzed on
Tuesday. Enjoy!
October 6, 2009 - 7th graders have a noun/pronoun/adjective quiz Wednesday.
They need to study their parts of speech packet. The only other homework 7th
graders have is to do vocab chapter 1 review for Thursday.
8th graders have a quiz on complements on Friday. We are reviewing Wednesday
and doing standardized tests on Thursday.
October 1, 2009 - 8th graders took standardized tests today.
7th graders are taking the vocabulary test today. They have the review pages
due next Thursday.
9/29/09 - 8th graders are doing standardized tests today.
7th graders are taking a pronoun quiz.
Both have vocabulary quizzes on Thursday.
9/15/09 - Both 7th and 8th graders are responsible for 10 vocabulary words
each week. They will be quizzed on them this Thursday.
7th graders have begun a parts of speech review. 8th graders are doing grammar
power points. No homework here.
9/17/09 - Both 7th and 8th graders are responsible for pages 14 - 17 in their
vocabulary books. The quiz on the 10 words from that unit is next Thursday.
8th graders are finishing up with their powerpoints - no homework.
7th graders are reviewing the eight parts of speech with me in class - no
homework.

1.2 on Thursday.
7th graders are busy reviewing the parts of speech in class. They also have a
