About The Teacher
My name is Alicia Shorter and I am currently going into my sixth year teaching second grade. Before teaching second grade, I previously taught fourth grade for four years. I live here in Carl Junction with my wonderful husband Brad, and our two children Hali 6, and Maddox who is almost 3! I love spending time with my family, traveling, and watching or playing any kind of sport. We are very big fans of basketball! With my husband being a coach, we are spending most of our nights at ballgames. We also love the MU Tigers!!! When I am not with my family at home, then the next best thing is being with my family at school. I consider all of my students like my own. They are all very special to me. I am so excited to get to be a part of this very important time in their lives. Teaching is such a sweet reward, and I am very thankful that I get the chance to teach them everyday. I want to thank you ahead of time for allowing me to be a part of your child's life. This year is going to be a blast!

My mission is for ALL of my students to succeed in their own life. We are all very different and unique and that is what makes us ALL special! I hope when they leave second grade, they will carry with them many memories to last a lifetime!
