I can't believe the year is almost over. We have some very exciting, fun-filled learning weeks ahead of us and then it's summer vacation. Crazy! As I've communicated with you throughout the year in my group emails, I want to again thank you for being such a great group of parents to work with. This group has been a blast to have and I look forward to the next few weeks we have left. I have been blessed beyond words and cannot think of a better group to transiton from a Second grade teacher to be the Educational Technology Teacher. <br /></font><br /><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 255);">Here is a list of our exciting schedule: (Please note: this schedule is subject to change, but I will do my best to keep things on track.) :) <br />4/27 - Field Trip to MSSU<br />4/28 - PTO Carnival...come by and see the 2nd grade teachers in the Hoop Shoot game and the Angry Bird game! <br />5/1 - AIMS Web testing begins <br />5/1 - DRA Testing begins<br />5/2 through 5/4 - Book Box Presentations...information sent home 4/25<br />5/8 - Discovery Magic and Springfield Cardinals Game Field Trip<br />5/9 and 5/11 - How to Demonstrations...information to be sent home on 4/30<br />5/10 - PBS Celebration<br />5/14 and 5/16 Pet Day Sign Up....information to be sent home on 4/30<br />5/15 - Teacher vs. Student kickball game (morning) Track and Field Day (afternoon)<br />5/16 - Reading Counts Reward BBQ<br />5/18 - Last Day of School<br /><br />Whew! I'm excited and tired just thinking of all this to come! <br /><br /><br /><br /></span><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />WOW! What an awesome group of second graders I have been blessed with! They are hard-working kiddos and full of personality!  We have had a busy 3 days learning the routines for Room 8 and for our school. We've also been busy waking that summer brain of ours up and dusting off the the cobwebs to get our school brains going. <br />Here are a few tidbits or reminders that I need to share with you.   <br />* Students cannot enter the buidling before 7:45...parent drop-offs cannot happen before that time.<br />* It looks as though our recess and lunch time have been tweaked a little bit. This may change again due to the mass number of kids getting through the lunch line in an expediate fashion. We will be going to recess a few minutes earlier...from 10:30-11:00. (If you are able to help rotate in with a recess duty, please let me know. Having parents help allows us time to work with kiddos, make phone calls, etc.) Our lunch time is a little bit earlier....from 11:15-11:45. <br />* Birthday treats will more than likely happen during morning snack time (approximately 9:30) since we will begin switching for Science and Social Studies in the afternoon....that would be too much craziness for this teacher to handle. :) <br /><br />Thank you for all you do as the parents of these kiddos.  I look forward to working with you! I am so excited to have such a great group! <br /><br /></div><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">

<div><span style="font-size: 14pt;">   Our open house will be Monday, August 15th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please feel free to bring your supplies and get yourself unpacked and ready to go for the first day.<br />   The first day of second grade begins at 8:05 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2010. I am so excited to start our journey. We will learn so many things and have so much fun! Please check the web page frequently to keep updated. I will do my best to update it as well. </span></div>
