I hope everyone had a very joy-filled Christmas and Happy New Year! I would
like to thank all the kids who brought me such awesome gifts and the parents
who provided the drinks, food and party favors for our Christmas
festivities. I truly appreciate it!
We are starting the third quarter, which means the count down to the MAP
tests has begun as well. We have been preparing and will continue to prepare
for the next several months for these tests.
The kids are tested in Math and Communication Arts in April. Both tests
consist of many multiple choice questions and several constructed respose,
which means they have to write their answers. We will be doing MAP-like
activities for a grade and some of these will be timed just like the MAP
tests are timed. The kids have been told and understand how these activities
look and what is expected of them at this point.
We will also be counting reading logs and homework towards the Hall of Fame
this quarter. If your child does not return homework completed the day it is
due two times this quarter they will be removed from the Hall of Fame. Also
if your
child’s reading log is not completed three times over the next quarter they
will be removed from the Hall of Fame. Once again, the kids have been told
beforehand that these changes will take affect this quarter. I’m sure they
will all do a wonderful job of meeting these expectations.
The kids will start bringing a test folder home every Monday. This will
include any tests that we have taken the previous week. Please look over the
tests and sign the form in the fold. The form needs to stay in the folder.
I have made a change to the daily folder too. The kids will now be
responsible for writing down any assignments needing completion and they will
also let you know how their day went. You will still need to sign this each
day as well. I appreciate your time and effort in all these matters!!
