We will be taking a field trip to Kansas City on Friday, November 13th. Any
child who did not return their permission slip will stay at school in a
second grade classroom. We will be back before school it out so the kids
will follow their regular after school routine.
We have started multiplication. The kids are really starting to understand
the concept. We learned that anything times two is the double of that
number, which helps us know the answers to a number times four. If you
double the answer to any number times two, you get the answer to that same
number, times four. Example:
6x2=12 so 6x4=24, which is the double of the answer 12.
3x2=6 so 3x4=12, which is the double of the answer six.
You will continue to see multiplication homework coming home on Tuesdays and
Thursdays as well as the reading logs, which are to be done every night.
