Dear Parents,
February 11th school will let out early for teachers to hold conferences with parents they feel it necessary to meet with, therefore, I will not be contacting all of you to schedule a conference. A letter will go home today indicating whether I need to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress and ask you to circle a few times that would work with your schedule. If I have indicated that I did not need to meet with you but you have a concern or question about your child’s progress, you may schedule a conference time. Conferences will only be scheduled on February 11th.
As a result of snow make-up days, we will be in school on Friday, February 12th and since Valentine’s Day falls on Sunday and we have no school on Monday, February 15th we will exchange Valentine Day cards in the classroom. This was not a party we had parents sign up for during Open House so you do not need to provide any treats or drinks. We will decorate a card holder in class and exchange cards for the students that bring them. The class is very close to filling the marble jar and if we make it by the 12th we will celebrate with a short movie and popcorn on that day.
Last week in Science the students completed their animal habitat dioramas and did a great job! They really put effort, thought, and creativity into putting their dioramas together. In Writing we have been working with various types of poetry and will complete our poetry unit with a poetry book next week.
Thank you for all the support you give your children! I love working with all of them and truly enjoy helping them become stronger students.
Looking forward to a great week!
