Summer Time

Dear Parents,

Summer is here and now it is time to kick back! That’s great, just be sure to spendat least an hourevery week day having your child read, review math facts, write stories, and practice cursive. There are a few pages at the end of our religion book that would serve as a great review throughout the summer. You could also read a chapter a week in our religion book for review. Also, teachers’ stores have really nice books that have great activities that the children can do and would enjoy. Maybe they could go with you and have input in choosing the books. Remember that the St. Louis County Libraries have a very nice summer reading incentive program. It would be great to participate in that. You can also check the Links on my website. I will be adding some throughout the summer as I find them.

Also, remember to continue to nurture your child’s spiritual life. The children enjoy receiving the Sacrament of the Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. They both are available often throughout the summer. Remember to get your child to Mass every weekend! That is crucial in nurturing the spiritual life of your child. Maybe you could choose a week day to go to Mass, out to breakfast, and then to the library. My children enjoyed that when they were young.

Once again, I have really enjoyed teaching this particular group of children. We have had a very productive year and have had lots of fun in the process! This class has made me laugh so much and I will miss them. The end of the school year is always bittersweet. I so look forward to the extra free time and more relaxed schedule of summer, but I also have a hard time saying good-bye to my students to whom I have become very attached!

I wish each of you a very safe, relaxing, peaceful, and blessed summer! Enjoy your families and vacations! See you in August!

May the road rise above you, may the sun be always at your back. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
