BOOK REPORT

BOOK REPORT DIRECTIONS FOR DECEMBER

1- Read a fiction book with a Christmas theme. It should not be below grade level. It doesn't need to be an AR book, but if it is, take the test as soon as you finish. All other books read this month do need to be on the AR list. If you have already read and tested on this book, don't do a book report on it. Read another book.

2- On looseleaf paper, with the holes to the left, write your name, December Book Report, the title, author, and number of pages in the book. This is the heading. Write in neat cursive and skip lines between each part.

3 - Skip a line and write a paragraph (4-6 sentences) telling how the main characters celebrate Christmas. Then practice using the comparing and contrasting skill you have learned. Write another short paragraph telling how your Christmas celebration is the same or different from the one in the book.

4 - Illustrate a scene from the book showing the characters celebrating Christmas. Use a piece of construction paper and crayons, markers, paint, or whatever you would like to make a colorful picture. Print the title of the book in color at the top of the page, and your own name in pencil in the bottom corner of the paper. We will hang them in the hall to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

5- This book report is due Dec. 15. The last day for December Independent reading is  Jan. 5, but you should try to get it done before Christmas.
