Dear Parents/Guardians,
Do you believe that December is already here? Each year I plan a prayer
angel activity for the students. The students will draw names to receive a
secret prayer buddy. During December the students will pray for and do kind
acts for their angel. But to keep it a secret, they must do kind deeds for
others too. To prevent any difficulties, I ask that you do not send any
gifts for the buddy.
At home, you may wish to light the traditional Advent wreath or to
decorate the Jesse tree. Another popular and simple activity is to lay a
straw in the Baby Jesus’ crib for each kind deed done during Advent. Then on
Christmas Eve the Baby Jesus may be laid in a soft bed. These activities all
help us prepare for Christmas.
December’s book report was sent home today.. Please keep this in a safe
place. The book report is simple--December is stressful enough! Please have
the reports by Friday, December 18th.
You should have received a letter regarding a third/fourth grade
tradition at Holy Infant School, our liturgy with a toy collection for
Guardian Angel Settlement. Please remember to involve your child in the
purchase of a toy for the poor. The liturgy is on Wednesday, December 9th.
As we hustle about this month, let us remember the true beauty of the
season.
