Dear Parents, November 16, 2009
Happy Monday! I really enjoyed meeting with each of you last week to talk
about the progress of your child! Hope that you enjoyed the three day
weekend!
We had a special Veteran's Day Celebration last Wednesday at school. The
second grade did a great job being an Honor Guard for the Veterans. A
special congratulations to Mr. Dwyer (Patrick's dad) who took part. Thank
you Mr. Dwyer for serving our country! We also wrote letters to the soldiers
that will be sent off with care packages with Mrs. Irwin.
A few reminders for the week:
1. The facts that we will be testing on this week Thursday are +8 and
+9. Please make sure that your child is reviewing each night.
2. The Second Grade Mission Raffle is on Wednesday, November 18th. All
candy jars and prizes should be turned in no later than tomorrow, November
17th. Don't forget to send in money with your child to have for our
classroom. Thanks to all parents who are volunteering to go around with the
students to the classrooms.
3. Picture retakes will be November 23rd. Students may dress out of
their uniforms.
4. There will be a Special Thanksgiving Liturgy at 8:00 next Wednesday,
November 25th. There will be a canned food drive during Mass. We have been
asked to bring in canned beef stew.
5. It will be a short week-Thanksgiving Break will begin on November 25 at
12:05. We will not have a Spelling Test, Time Test, or start a new story!
Enjoy the break!
6. Many students do not have pencils, crayons, glue sticks, lost
assignment notebooks. Please check with your child to see what they need.
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks to God for what he has given us-thank
you for sharing your child with me! I am so thankful to have such a great
group of students and parents!
Have a wonderful week and a blessed Thanksgiving!
Ms. Brinker
**Please continue to practice the Reconciliation Formula with your child each
night. The big day is quickly approaching! We are so excited!
A special thank you to the Potter, Dwyer, Roux,Sajben,Thompson,Hoffman,
Keegan, and Seymour families for donating new books from the Book Fair to our
classroom. Thank you, thank you! The students will LOVE reading them!
