Week of December 4
The days before our Christmas break will be very busy. This week the children
will continue practicing for the Advent Concert. The children need to be in
the classroom at 6:30 Friday evening. Parents, please take your child's coat
to the church. The classroom will not be open after the concert. I look
forward to seeing you at the concert Friday evening.
Please send your child to school with a warm jacket or coat. The primary
children go out for recess most days throughout the late fall and winter.
Thank you.
We are beginning Multiplication when we return to school on Wednesday. If your
child has not started MEMORIZING the multiplication facts, now is the time!
We have learned the facts of zero and one. Timed quizzes are given regularly
once the facts have been introduced. The time begins with five minutes. The
goal is completion of the facts in three minutes without errors. The zero's,
and one's have been taught. Quizzes of these facts will begin this week. The
facts of two will be introduced on Wednesday. Working on five facts per night
makes the memorization much easier. I suggest putting a set of flash cards in
the car. Your child can practice while at a siblings basketball practice or
other activity.
As we prepare for the holidays, let us remember to take some time to quietly
reflect upon the true meaning of the season.
God Bless!
