Home

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We have moved into the season of Advent.  Students have a Religion project that they will be working on in their home.  It is called “Creating an Advent Home.”

Students made Advent wreathes and Advent prayer chains to help them fill their home with prayer this season.  The activities are meant to help the students prepare for Christ’s coming at Christmas.  Students recognize their need to be leaders in prayer, therefore, they will be leading prayer in your home.  At the end of the Advent season, you will be asked to evaluate your child’s commitment to the Advent activities.

Student will also be bringing home holy water and blessings to bless the Christmas tree and other holiday items.

Thank you for your patience and understanding about the parent teacher conferences.

I am sending home two opportunities for students to submit their writing for consideration in a writing contest.  Both contests are optional, however, there are many talented writers in the fifth grade.  I encourage the students to further develop their writing skills by writing outside of school.

The next few weeks will be filled with meaningful classroom experiences to help the students prepare  for the coming of the Redeemer at Christmas.

Thank you for your ongoing help and support.  I wish you a blessed Advent Season.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mary Ann Malone
