Hello 5th Graders and parents! I will be your teacher this year! I am&nbsp;extremely excited to begin a new school year with great kids!

My name is Suzy Bourner. I am 27 years old and I live in St. Peters with my two cats, Sassy and Kitty (Sassy is on the left and Kitty is on the right)! This is my 7th year teaching! Before I came to Troy, I taught 5th grade for 2 years in Sullivan, Missouri. I then moved to St. Peters to be closer to my family! I was lucky to get a job teaching 4th grade in Troy! I taught 4th grade for one year, and 5th grade for the last three years! I love 5th graders! They are at such a wonderful age! I enjoy helping them get ready for middle school.

In my free time I enjoy reading! My favorite genre is historical fiction. Over the summer I manage a fireworks stand! This will be my 9th year!&nbsp; Below is a picture of me from a few years ago.&nbsp; Late one night it started to storm, and then our tent began to flood.&nbsp; We were frantically moving fireworks!&nbsp; It was crazy!&nbsp; Look at my feet in the picture . . . . I am standing in the water!&nbsp;

My fiance, Scott,&nbsp;and I also enjoy traveling! We have been on two cruises. The&nbsp;picture at the top of the page&nbsp;is of me on&nbsp;the beach in Antigua!&nbsp; The picture below was taken in Puerto Rico!&nbsp; Look at the beautiful water!&nbsp; We will be getting married this year in La Romana, Dominican Republic on March 15th.&nbsp; We are very excited!

I grew up in St. Peters, with my mom and dad, as well as my brother, Thomas.&nbsp;&nbsp;There is a family picture below.&nbsp;

I graduated from Francis Howell Central High School.&nbsp; I then went on to Missouri State University where I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. In May of 2010 I graduated from Lindenwood University with my Master's of Arts in Educational Administration.&nbsp; Below is a picture taken just after I received my diploma.&nbsp; I was waving to my family in the stands!&nbsp; One day I hope to be a principal, but not any time soon! I enjoy being a teacher too much to give it up!
