Juniors: See Mrs. Richardson to pick up an application if you are interested in running for class officer.

 

Freshmen wishing to run for a class office or student council, please see one of your class sponsors for the application form. forms due by next Thursday. Return to a class sponsor.

 

This Friday will be Orange/Blue Friday where we will be asking everyone to wear their Devon’s Beat shirt or an orange or blue shirt. Donations made on this day will go towards the SADS organization. 

In addition, there will be a $1 Hat Day this Friday. The proceeds for this will go towards the outdoor classroom. If you wear a hat – you must pay a $1!!!

 

Students: Smart Start – Benton County Back to School Fair – will be Friday, Aug. 2nd from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (school supplies) Registration is required by July 1 at the following locations: West Central, Katy Trial Community Health, Benton County Food Pantry, DFS and Place at the Lake – Lincoln. Call 660-723-9833 for more information or pick up a flyer in the HS office.

 

Students Grades 9-12: The Benton County Youth Coalition is sponsoring “The Amazing Race for Your Life” Tuesday, May 21 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Downtown Warsaw, MO – Drake Harbor Area.  Teams will consist of 5 members. This Race is modeled after “the Amazing Race” with 4 different locations set up where teams will complete various challenges to win prizes. There will be a prize for the best team score on each challenge and a grand prize for each member of the winning team. Pick up an application in the high school office. Great and Fun opportunity to represent our school!

 

Attention Students: The library is trying to raise $11,000 to buy new computers for the libraries. We have already raised about $300. We will be pumping gas on Friday, May 24 from 3-7 p.m. at Casey’s and Bullseye for tips. I already have several elementary students but I need some of you older kids to help. After all, you will be the ones who will benefit the most form getting new computers in the libraries. Please see Mrs. Lynde for more information or to sign up to pump gas for a couple of hours. Thanks

FBLA Reception will be on May 21st during 7th hour. New officers will be inducted.

 

Attention Students: 4th quarter Reading Trip will be indoor swimming on Tues., May 21. Deadline to have quizzes taken by is Wed., May 15.

 

Attention girls in grades 8-11 playing Basketball next season: The gym will be open from 3:15 to 5:30 during the week of May 13th to the 16th.

The State Park Youth Corps is now accepting applications at www.thinkoutside.mo.gov   Youth must be between 17 and 23 and meet income eligibility.

Lincoln Whitetails Unlimited – Youth Day – Free Event! Saturday, May 18th – 10:00 a.m. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Please RSVP to Josh Young at 660-723-0787 or 660-547-2535 by May 10th. This is available to students age K-12. Child must have a Parent/Guardian with them during the entire event. Activities offered: 22 Shooting, Archery and Fishing. Lunch and all shooting/fishing equipment will be provided. NO outside weapons or fishing gear allowed.   Directions: 1 mile west of Lincoln on C Highway, turn right on Wischmeier Avenue – Watch for signs.
