Class Projects
September - Big Book of Classmates Each student will create a page about themselves and their family which will be compiled into a class book so that we can learn about each other.
October - Wild Things We will read the book "Where the Wild Things Are" and then complete a project by writing about and creating our own "wild things".
November - Turkey Dressing Students will be disguising a turkey in order to save him from becoming Thanksgiving dinner!
December - Holidays Around the World Throughout December, our class will be "traveling" to various countries around the world to learn how they celebrate winter holidays. We will make a project that represents each tradition, and as we travel, we will collect stamps in our holiday passports.
January - Snowglobes and Snowmen During the cold of January we will make some fun snow projects!
February - Valentine Boxes Each student will decorate a box to hold all of their Valentine goodies. These can be made from Kleenex boxes, shoeboxes, or any other small box you have available.
March - Leprechaun Traps Each student will design and create a trap to catch leprechauns who come into our room around St. Patrick's Day to make mischief.
April - Flat First Graders We will read "Flat Stanley" and then create our own Flat First Graders (in our likeness) to send on an adventure through the mail.
May - Coffee Filter Butterflies We will learn about the life cycle of the butterfly and create butterflies from coffee filters and watercolors. |
