About The Teacher
Welcome to Homeroom 6B and Middle School Math! When I think back about being a teacher, it is amazing how fast the years have gone. This is my 25th year in education, all of them in the St. Louis Archdiocese. I am starting my 4th year here at SGM and I couldn't imagine teaching anywhere else. It's a true blessing when your career, faith and family all come together as I have been a member of St. Gerard's for almost 23 years. I have one brother, and he and his family are also members of the parish. My niece and nephew graduated from SGM and love to come back and "visit" when they can. I am an alumnae of St. Elizabeth Academy and graduated from Fontbonne University with a BA degree in Mathematics with Secondary Certification. I love to spend my precious free time with friends and family, watching the Cardinals, making handmade cards, scrapbooking, adding to my Mickey Mouse collection, and training my cockatiel "Pi", yes as in 3.14.
Mission Label:
Mission
It is our goal for the sixth grade to make their transition to Middle School and block scheduling as smooth as possible. By focusing on time management, organizational skills, and study skills, as well as their curriculum content, we hope to develop students who are independent and self-assured. It is my mission as the Middle School Math teacher to help the students discover and develop their math abilities and learn to use them to investigate and understand the God created world in which they live. As Galileo once wrote, "Mathematics is the alphabet with which God wrote the universe". God created our world and it is up to us to use our faith, talents, and abilities to help perfect His creation.
