About Mr. Decker

Mr. Decker is entering his second year at St. Gerard Majella.  He attended The University of Missouri-St. 
Louis and received a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education/History. He also was able to 
participate in an intensive four week long Irish Studies course in Northern Ireland in the summer of 
2007.  Previously he was a full time substitute teacher at North Technical High School in North St. Louis 
County and student taught at Trinity Catholic High School in Spanish Lake.  Mr. Decker also coaches 
boys basketball at Trinity Catholic.

Mission For Middle School Social Studies Courses

In the middle school, students strive to learn how to apply the methods of social science to 
the subjects of geography and history.  The courses are designed to expand each students 
knowledge of the world around them and develop skills for life.  In addition to geography and history 
students in the sixth and eighth grades also have the chance to explore economics through the Junior 
Achievement program.
