Assessment Procedure

Children complete four to five assignments per quarter to assess individual understanding of technology concepts presented. For each assignment, children receive a scoring guide that outlines the grading criteria and shows the number of points earned for the project.

• Children in Kindergarten receive check marks and smiley faces on their assignments. Assignments generally have five objectives. For each objective, I circle if it was mastered or if the child is still working on this. In order to generate a quarter grade, I  convert to a possible five points and score accordingly.

• Children in first and second grade are assessed using a basic point system. At the end of the quarter, grades are determined based on the number of points earned compared to the total possible points for the quarter.
