Kindergarten: November 17th, We worked on tempo (fast and slow) What are ways you can move at different tempos? Be looking for notes coming home and in the newsletter about the Christmas Program! 1st Grade: November 17th We are working on posture and steady beat movement as we prepare for our Christmas program! 2nd Grade: November 23rd: We reviewed some Thanksgiving songs, "A Turkey Named Bert", "Turkey Trot Blues" and "Over the River" We are continuing to review our Christmas Program music. November 16th, We are working on posture and steady beat movement as we prepare for our Christmas program! 3rd Grade: November 23rd: We reviewed "God of Great and God of Small" and "We Give Thanks" for performance on Grandparents Day. We are continuing work on cumulative songs such as "Alouette" We continued work with songs with Do, Re, Mi, Sol and La pitches such as "Old Man Moses," "Killy Kranky," and "Pizza Daddy Oh." We also listened to an interview by Jean Ritchie (a folk singer) who talked about how she learned Killy Kranky and other folk songs. November 16th, Great Performance last week! We learned a new round today "Salamanca Market." We worked on Call and Response songs for advent. We learned a cumulative (add on song) "Alouette." We worked on Do, Re, Mi, Sol, and La pitches in "Killy Kranky" and "Pizza Daddy Oh!" 4th Grade: November 23rd: We reviewed "God of Great and God of Small" and "We Give Thanks" for performance on Grandparents Day. We reviewed a cumulative song "Court of King Carticus" We worked on songs with Do, Re, Mi So and La pitches. We learned a game with concentric circles "John Kanaka" and played "Pizza Daddy Oh" November 16th and 17th, Great performance last week! We reviewed a round "Ah Poor Bird." We worked on Call and Response songs for advent. We learned a partner song and reviewed instruments in an orchestra with "The Orchestra Song." We learned a cumulative (Add-on song) "The Court of King Caraticus." 5th Grade: November 17th, Great performance last week! We did a self-assessment of our performance in class. We reviewed a round "Tzena." We reviewed our known rhythms and pitches with "The Rhythm of Life," "Zum Gali Gali" and "Funga Alafia." 6th, 7th and 8th: November 23rd (8B): We reviewed "God of Great and God of Small" for our performance on Grandparent's Day. We continued work on singing two part music. November 16th-20th, We reviewed harmony and unison singing. We learned call and response Advent songs. We learned an Advent round (harmony). We sang an Advent song with a sung ostinato (harmony). We sang Goliath and Didn't My lord Deliver Daniel as 2 part songs.
