About The Teacher
I'm looking forward to beginning my second year at SGM. I am a graduate of Truman State University with a BA in Music, Master of Arts in Piano Performance, and Master of Arts in Education. I am certified in K-12 Vocal and Instrumental Music and have completed Orff Level I Certification. I love teaching in the general music classroom and have also taught group piano lessons. I enjoy musicals and have been the music director for Once Upon A Mattress at Crossroads College Preparatory as well as accompanying several shows for school and community theaters.

Mission
I believe my mission for the music program at St. Gerard Majella is best stated in this anonymous reflection. Why I Teach Music (an anonymous reflection) Not because I expect you to major in music. Not because I expect you play or sing all of your life. Not so you can relax or have fun. But . . . So you will be human, So you will recognize beauty, So you will be closer to an Infinite beyond this world, So you will have something to cling to, So you will have more love, more compassion, more gentleness, More good . . . In short, more life! Of what value will it be to make a prosperous living Unless you know how to live?
