GRADE 6
The students will participate in games that involve a wider range of skills.
The development of each player’s self worth as a team asset will be stressed.
Practice opportunities will continue to be provided for each of the
President’s Fitness Challenge events. Discussions and written assignments on
this quarter’s topic entitled “Components of Fitness” will also take place and
notes will be recorded in their p.e. binder. A written test will be given at
the end of this quarter on the health topics which have been covered. A study
guide will be provided to assist them with their review for this test.
GRADE 7
The students will participate in sports games that emphasize proper skill
execution, knowledge of the rules and terminology, and team cooperation. The
President’s Fitness Challenge events will continue to be practiced and each
student’s scores recorded. Discussions and written assignments on this
quarter’s topic entitled “Muscular Fitness” will also take place and notes
will be recorded in their p.e. binder. A written test will be given at the end
of this quarter on the health topics which have been covered. A study guide
will be provided to assist them with their review for this test.
GRADE 8
The students will participate in game situations which will allow each of them
to demonstrate their mastery of the basic game and fitness skills. The teams
will be encouraged to develop team strategies as game play progresses.
Individual practice and testing continues as each student attempts to reach
his or her age level standards for the President’s Fitness Challenge.

Strength & Endurance” will also take place and notes will be recorded in their
p.e. binder. A written test will be given at the end of this quarter on the
health topics which have been covered. A study guide will be provided to
assist them with their review for this test.
