Behavior Expectations

BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS*

Respect is the heart of my expectations for student behavior--respect for themselves, respect for
their fellow students, and respect for the parents and staff of St. Gerard Majella. This includes
listening when it is appropriate and talking when it is appropriate; staying in a desk when it is
appropriate and working in a group when it is appropriate.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BEHAVIOR POLICY

Students in the middle school are held to a high standard of behavior. As in all grades, we
continue to stress respect for self and others. The general middle school discipline procedure
is a version that flows directly from the intermediate token system.

Every two weeks the student starts with a clean slate. Students who do not abide by the expected
standard of behavior and guidelines set out in the handbook will receive a discipline slip, the
earned consequence of their actions. Three (3) discipline slips within a two week period will result in
twenty (20) minutes before or after school. The homeroom teacher will contact the parents
to set up a mutually convenient time. If it becomes necessary for your son or daughter to
stay after school twice, you will be contacted for a conference. Students who have not had
to stay after school will participate in a quarterly reward.
