About The Teacher

Dear Parents,

Since some of you who have a son or daughter in sixth grade are meeting me
formally for the first time, and all of your children will be having me as a
teacher, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mary Manganaro, and I
have been with the Archdiocesan Parochial schools for all of my teaching
career. Previously, I have worked at St. Matthias and Our Lady of Sorrows
Schools and taught a variety of subjects to a variety of age levels from
fourth to eighth grade. I first worked with Dr. Koberlein as a fellow teacher
in both of these schools.

I will be teaching language arts (literature/English/spelling vocabulary)
to all sixth graders, as well as &a students. Included on this web page is an
explanation of the content to be covered in the first quarter and general
grading criteria and homework expectations for each subject I teach. In
addition there is a letter about the Middle School Leadership Program and an
explanation of the Middle SchoolBehavior Policy.

During my time at St. Gerard Majella, the staff, the parents, and the
students have been very supportive and have made teaching here a rewarding
experience. I look forward to helping your son/daughter be successful in
middle school at SGM and to meeting you on visiting day in August or at the
sixth grade open house this fall.

						Sincerely,

						Miss Manganaro

Mission For The Class

Sixth Grade

It is our goal for the sixth grade to make their transition to Middle
School and block scheduling as smooth as possible. By focusing on time
management, organizational skills, and study skills, as well as their
curriculum content, we hope to develop students who are independent and
self-assured.
