Homework/Classwork

3a & 3b: We've finished working on our PowerPoint presentation about an assigned dinosaur. We'll used I Keep Bookmarks to research the topic, and find a photo. Later, we presented our shows to the class.
We worked with Mrs. Fogarty to research an assigned President, using the links in I Keep Bookmarks. We used Cube Creator to make a cube to use in our project.
4a & 4b: We're completing a PowerPoint presentation on "My Amazing Animal," using the links in I Keep Bookmarks. We've included slide design, photos, and transitions. We'll begin showing our presentations in 4th Quarter.
5a & 5b: We applied our improved searching skills with a game called "Facts in 5" this week. We've completed a 4-panel cartoon using MS Word, dingbat fonts, and Word callouts. Now we're exploring the online cartoon creator called Make Beliefs Comix.
We set up records in UltraKey to work on keyboarding, and completed lessons and Skill Checks.
6a & 6b:
Both 6a and 6b completed their computer exam on Fri., May 18, focusing on research skills, using Google search. Grades have now been posted to our grade program.

7a & 7b
We are working on timelines using TimeToast.com. Working on a variety of topics, in teams of 3, we did research to add 3 events per person (including a photo and link) to add to the timeline. Some of the completed projects are proudly displayed on my TeacherWeb page:
7th grade has taken over our morning video broadcasts on KSGM. For more information, check my page, KSGM & other Questions.

8a & 8b:
All final projects have been graded and posted on the grade portal. Rubrics with details of each grade are available in the Lab Files folder on the school network.

Many students have chosen to use GarageBand for their final project. The project was due by May 15. Links to "how to" articles on GarageBand and podcasts can be found in SaintGerard'sBookmarks. You can downloaded the grading guidelines (or rubric) and 2 different tutorials here

To find music that is copyright-free for a podcast, search for "podsafe." You can downloaded the grading guidelines (or rubric) and 2 different tutorials when you visit my "Homework Help" page.

The completed Prezi projects have been embedded on my 8th Grade Final Projects page. Helpful links
can be found in SaintGerard'sBookmarks. You can downloaded the grading guidelines (or rubric) and a help file on my "Homework Help" page.

We've used Tagxedo to create interactive word clouds. We used Gutenberg to find online text from a famous literary work. We copied a part of the text in "plain text." Next we uploaded the text and an image we found to Tagxedo. Finally, we've used code to embed some of them on this website: 8a Tagxedos, and 8b Tagxedos.

Each 8th-grader received a username and password to use on KSGM's private wiki. The 4th Quarter script was due March 28. Help with writing on the wiki is on my "Homework Help" page. The rubric can be downloaded on "Homework Help" page
