About the Teacher
Welcome to 1B! Some of you, I have already met, but for those of you who do not know me yet, I would like to share some information about myself. I graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia (GO TIGERS!) with a degree in elementary education. I have been teaching first grade at SGM for the last seven years. I am beginning my 21st year of teaching and most of those years have been in first grade! I have previously taught at Incarnate Word Elementary and St. Joseph's in Manchester. My husband and I have three children, Brendan (15), Julia (13) and Shannon(11), who keep us very busy. I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new ones!
Mrs. Watts, our first grade aide, is a wonderful addition to our first grade class! She has worked as a Primary Aide at SGM for the last seven years. She helps our classes by working with small groups, helping individual students, helping prepare for our special projects and activities, and she puts a smile on everyones' face! We are very blessed to have her on our team!
Mission for the Class
My goal is to provide a positive and stimulating environment in which your child will thrive every day. I hope to inspire a love of learning by providing opportunities that will inspire their natural curiosity and help them reach their potential. We will incorporate our 2009-2010 focuses which include our love for God, love for learning, love for ourselves and love for others.
