Dear Parents,
Our mystery reader program is off to a great start! We love to have our parents visit our classroom to read to the children and watch them grow through the year.
It has come to our attention that, in years past, individual classrooms have had different policies regarding the bringing in of stickers, pencils, candy etc. We understand that as parents, it becomes quite confusing to figure out how the program will work for your child’s classroom. In order to alleviate all the confusion, we have decided to come up with a policy for all of primary, (K, 1 and 2) so that everyone will have the same information and it can be followed from year to year. We are asking that no parent bring in any pencils, stickers, prizes, etc. Our program is designed to promote reading and sometimes the young children look at our “mystery reader” program with the idea that they will “get something” from the mystery reader. We do not want to put the burden on any parent, that they would feel the need to provide a “treat” for each student. That is not the purpose of our program. While we truly appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness, we ask your cooperation in this matter.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher.
Sincerely,
The Primary Teachers
