Dear Parents,
We have really been enjoying our beautiful week of warm weather. We have
been outside enjoying all God’s gifts!
Next week, we will be working on lots of new concepts! Some of them
include:
• READING—We will read a funny story about a wild ride to school! We will be
working on blends (fl, bl, cl, pl etc.) at the beginning of words.
• GRAMMAR—We will be learning and identifying capitals in days of the week and
holidays
• MATH---We will begin our unit on plane shapes. We will sort by different
attributes. Keep working on those math facts while we work on this unit!
• RELIGION---We will be discussing the prayer that God our Father taught us
(Our Father). We will practice using the correct words. I know that sometimes
the children say it as we think they hear it but it might be helpful to
reinforce the correct words at home too! (Ex. some children say “thy kingdom
come, ‘I’ will be done etc)
• Mrs. Leutkemeyer, our school counselor, came to our classroom to talk about
qualities of being a good friend. We made a point to tell someone in our class
why we thought they were a good friend. We talk about this daily but it’s nice
to be reminded. We enjoyed her visit!
A LOOK AHEAD
* On Wednesday Nov. 11, we will have our Primary Parent Lunch from 12:00
– 1:00. When you arrive, please go directly to the gold room and we will meet
you there! Remember, if you did not purchase a Subway Lunch, you must bring
one from home!
* Thursday will also be a noon dismissal for Parent Teacher conferences.
* We do not have school on Friday, due to Parent Teacher conferences.
I am looking forward to seeing you for Parent Teacher Conferences on
Nov. 12.
Sincerely,
Julie Missel
