6th Grade Science
The 6th grade science program will use the Prentice-Hall Science Explorer series, and supplement this
series with the Scott Foresman Science program and books. Both series emphasize the use of process
skills necessary for inquiry. The 6th grade has recently moved into our studies of astronomy. We will
be studying the stars, planets, and the rest of the universe. Our book is entitled, "Astronomy". We are
also studying scientific investigations.
7th Grade Science
The 7th grade science program will use the Prentice-Hall Science Explorer series. As before, this series
emphasizes the use of process skills necessary for inquiry. The 7th grade has recently moved into our
studies of viruses, bacteria, protists, and the needs of living things. Our book is entitled, "From Bacteria
to Plants". We are also studying scientific investigations.
8th Grade Science
The 8th grade science program will use the Prentice-Hall Science Explorer series. As before, this series
emphasizes the use of process skills necessary for inquiry. We are currently using the book entitled,
"Human Biology and Health". We are currently studying transport systems of the body. We are also
studying scientific investigations.
