The Sunrise National Junior Honor Society is sponsoring a "Toys for Tots" drive during the month of December. We are asking the Sunrise students and their parents to help sponsor this activity by donating NEW toys, games puzzles, books, etc. for children in need here at Sunrise. Toys for children between the ages of "toddler" up to the ages of 10 and 11 are needed most. The toy drive will run from December 7th through December 16th.
Honor Society students will come to each classroom to pick up toys each Wednesday and Friday morning. The last pick up date will be the morning of December 16th. Classes will earn points for the toys they bring in. The top three classes will win:
1st place - Popcorn and movie party
2nd place - Christmas snack cakes
3rd place - Candy Canes
Small toys earn the classroom 10 pts. apiece, medium toys earn the classroom 20pts. apiece, and large toys earn the classroom 30 pts. apiece. In addition to the toy drive, Honor Society will also be sponsoring a spare change drive. The spare change collected will be used to purchase new clothing for children in need. Each dollar collected will earn the classroom 5pts.
Please help in this worthwhile project and give some child a smiling Christmas!
Our Christmas Party will be Friday December 18th at 2:00 p.m.
I am still in need of small/short pringles cans...there are many uses for these cans that I would like to use with my students this year. If you would like to donate one or more of these pringle cans to our classroom your generosity will be greatly appreciated. Here is a picture of the size I need...
