Extra Credit Reading

Please Read Carefully

Extra Credit Reading is a voluntary project for both students and teachers. It is designed to encourage recreational reading and also to provide a means for students to give their grades a small boost. Extra credit reading should be used only by students who have completed all classroom assignments. An extra credit book report can be used in only one class, however a student may read a second book and complete the required report for extra credit to be used in a second class. For example, a student could read one book to use in English, and a second book to use in History. This extra credit opportunity must not be done in place of class assignments. Since this is a voluntary project for the faculty also, students should know which of their teachers will be participating in the Extra Credit Reading project.

Directions:

  1. Be informed of which of your teachers will accept the Extra Credit Reading
  2. Come to the Trinity LMC and check out a book to read. The book must meet the following guidelines:
    • it must be 100 or more pages
    • It can be fiction or non-fiction
    • it must be read during the quarter in which the report is submitted
    • it can not be a book used for a class assignment or for a research project
    • follow any requirements set by an individual teacher.
  3. Read the book.
  4. Click on the book report link below which will take you to the book report form. Complete and submit the report. REMEMBER: The report must be well written in complete sentences, with correct spelling and grammar.BE PREPARED TO COMPLETE THE BOOK REPORT AT ONE TIME. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN TO THE INCOMPLETED PAGE.
  5. You will receive either a certificate for extra credit (if you have followed the directions completely), or a copy of your report with comments for improvements. You have one chance to make the corrections and resubmit the report.

The last day to submit a book report for the fourth quarter of the 2007- 2008 school year is May 8, 2008 for seniors and May 19, 2008 for everyone else.
