<div class="c1"><a class="c2" title="BJHS Choir Blog" href="http://bjhschoirs.blogspot.com">BJHS Choir Blog</a> February 18th Looking ahead/ Spring Concert- April 19th @ 6:30 PM We are focusing on our final concert which will be held in our auditorium on April 19th at 6:30 PM.  Students from each grade will be preparing different songs to present this night.  The performance attire will be choir shirts and nice jeans.  The students need to arrive at school at 6 and be in their seats at 6:10 The 6th graders need to begin locating/buying a regular-sized flashlight for one of their numbers.  We will be asking for a suggested donation of $3 for this concert to support our students who are wanting to go to choir camp this summer.  Thank you so much for all of your support this year.  I am so proud of our students and think you will be blown away at their progress. Lakeshore Choral Camp Something to look forward to for many choir students is choir camp in June.  Here is the link for our state choir camp, Lakeshore Choral Camp.  This is a great time for our students to work under an excellent director, meet other students from all over the state and learn some incredible music.  <a title="Lakeshore Choral Camp" href="http://www.hernandochoirs.com/">Lakeshore Choral Camp  </a> Each student who goes to camp must be taken and picked up by a parent.  One idea is for a group to carpool down to Morton, MS and then each family go down for the concert at the end of the week and to pick up their student.  Composer Reports I am so pleased with the composer reports that were presented by several 6th graders.  Some language teachers have agreed to use this as another grade for them.  Good job!! January 1st, 2012   Happy New Year, everybody!  November 28th Christmas Concert Back from Thanksgiving break and hitting the ground running.  I am looking forward to our Christmas concert that will be December 8th in the auditorium.  We are asking everyone to bring a canned food item as admission and will donate these to the local food pantry.  Students need to dress in Christmas colors.  They need to wear something more formal like slacks or a dress for girls.  Boys can wear khaki or black pants.  Students need to be at school in their seats at 6:00.  All State Honor Choir I am very proud to announce that we have 3 students from our school who made the Mississippi All State Honor Choir.  They are Riley Young, A. J. Norwood, and Destiny Moses.  I am so proud of all of my students who were chosen to audition.  You all did a great job!! October 16th Open House I am so proud of our choirs that sang for Open House the other night.  You all did such a great job!!  Thanks for all of your hard work! Fundraiser Our choir fundraiser is over and I am still counting orders.  I will let you all know who our  big sellers where in a day or 2.  Honor Choir 6th graders who are working to go to honor choir auditions, October 29th in Tupelo, can meet with me after school this Thursday, October 20th and next, October 27th until 4:30.  September 15th Choir Fundraiser Begins September 23rd!!  Parents, we are going to start our Great American fundraiser in a couple of weeks. This was a great way to fund our choir last year. We will be getting choir shirts before we sing October 11th.  All choir members who sell 10 or more items during the fundraiser will not need to pay for their shirt.   If you opt out of participating in the fundraiser, the choir t-shirts will be $15.00.  I will be sending home more information about this during the next few days.  The choirs that will be singing October 11th are 1st and 3rd periods.  Honor Choir All 6th grade students who wish to get the music for All State Honor Choir auditions need to return their form ASAP.  Thank you for all of your support.  I have really enjoyed talking to many parents.  It is a joy to see your children learn new things. I look forward to meeting many more of you in the future. Please call me if you have any questions.

School is off to a great start!!

<div>I am so excited about our great group of students at BJHS!! I am overwhelmed with all of the talented students that have come our way.  The choirs are really working hard and are sounding so good.  We are looking forward to many up-coming events.  Some choirs will be singing October 11th at our open house here at school.  I will be sending home letters about who will be singing.  Right now, the students all need to be obtaining a pair of khaki pants. The pants need to be full length pants.  I will send home information about choir shirts, etc. very soon.  Thanks for your support!
