Mission Statement

The Lafayette County School District believes that all children can learn. Our mission is to provide a quality education. All students will be required to spend sufficient amounts of time on tasks to master basic skills. Materials, supplies, and support services will be provided to ensure the understanding and mastery of these objectives. Requirements regarding testing, grading, promotion, retention, and graduation are based upon students performance of our district specifications.

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Lafayette High School, I am pleased to welcome you to the LHS website. We are excited to have an opportunity to share information about our campus with you.

Lafayette High School serves students in grades 9-12 and has a student population of approximately 700 students. Our school offers a well rounded curriculum including an advanced placement program for college-bound students.

Lafayette High School is proud of its excellent extracurricular programs, including a wide range of championship sports programs, an award-winning band, as well as a award winning FFA program. Our teams and organizations consistently advance to area, regional, and state competitions.

LHS appreciates the support provided by our parents, community members, and local businesses. We pledge to continue to work hard to make our academic and extracurricular programs even stronger to ensure our students are successful and prepared for the future.

Online Grades - Coming Soon!

The new on-line grade book for student and parent access will be available soon. The on-line grade book will increase the communication efforts between the school and home. The program will be accessible with any internet location. Information about account activation will be provided with the first nine weeks progress reports (September 7, 2011).
