Course Description:Designed to provide an opportunity for crreative and
intellectual development through learning in the Visual Arts. Students will
review the major periods of art history, gaining critical understanding of
these art styles and qualities, as well as accompanying interrelated
concepts. Principles of art theory and design will be applied throughout
this course. ( Students taking this course do not necessarily have to be good
artists but they do have to have a desire and willingness to try to draw and
paint. See handouts for supplies.
*Second semester brings more development of studio skills for Art I students.
