READING: We’ll use context clues to help us understand unfamiliar words as we
read about a very large reptile, the Komodo dragon of Indonesia.
SPELLING: Vowels with r is the rule for the words that will be tested
Thursday. No challenge test this week.
LANGUAGE: We will spend the whole week working with linking and action verbs.
MATH: Topics taught this week include: reading fractions and mixed numbers
from a number line, multiplying 2-digit numbers with and without regrouping,
reading an inch scale to the nearest fourth inch, using a cup, pint, quart,
1/2 gallon, gallon, and 2 liter to study capacity.
SCIENCE: How does Earth’s surface wear away? How do weathered materials
move? How can Earth’s surface change rapidly? These are the questions we’ll
answer this week.
