Hi Fifth Graders and Parents,

This month finds us almost half way through the school year.  The second 
midterm is Friday the 4th.  Wow, time is going by fast!  While this month is 
going to by filled with fun extras, we also have Science, Social Studies, and 
Math that will keep us busy too!

Social Studies is getting more and more interesting as we get closer to 
colonial times.  We have some fun and interesting activities lined out for 
learning about the 13 English colonies.  Math has been challenging with the 
kids working so hard on dividing whole numbers and decimals, I know it's not 
the easiest area in Math, but soon we will move on to data, statistics and 
graphs which is a fun thing to do after all the long division!  We are almost 
to the Earth Science unit in Science.  Life Science has been interesting 
though, and the last tests were quite impressive.  Ask your 5th. Grader to 
show you his or her test!

This month is also FULL of FUN!  We have a matinee performance by the NTCHS 
Drama Club on Friday.  We will be doing that in the afternoon.  Hillside 
Colony students will be going with the 5th. and 6th. Graders.  The following 
Monday the 5th. and 6th. Graders will be heading to Hillside Colony School to 
watch their Christmas play!  Next we will be practicing for our play which 
will be at 2:00 PM on the 15th.  We get to go on our ski day on the 17th. and 
finally, we get to do a movie day in Conrad on the 18!

Wow!  Fun and busy times are the best!
