GRADE 2 UPDATE March 31, 2008 Issue #20
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER ALL NEXT WEEK APRIL 7-11!
Our family will be in Missoula on Monday and Tuesday next week to watch our
son, Rhett, participate in the State Science Fair. Then, on Wednesday
through Friday, we'll be in Spokane at the Shriner Children's Hospital to
have our daughter Whitney's leg operated upon. The children's substitute
teacher will be Mrs. Griffin all week.
FINAL BOOK REPORT IS TODAY, MARCH 31, 2008!
Your child read three books written by the same author and reported on the
similarities and differences of the main characters, setting, problem, and
main events. They also explained their connection to the story itself and
put the stories in order from their favorite to least favorite along with
their reasons for doing so.
Thank you, Parents, for your dedication in assisting your young one with the
year's four book reports. Hopefully the goal of helping your child
comprehend the material in a more concrete fashion was accomplished!
Late students will be kept in at recess to read three stories of my choosing
from the author I choose, filling out the comparison chart, and practicing
their oral report.
THANK YOU FOR THE TREATS!
Thanks much to all of you who sent a dozen treats for our 2nd Grade Easter
Egg hunt at the Spark Playground/Engel Park. It was a very cold day, but the
children enjoyed their hunt. Thanks to Mikayla's family for the Easter
Rabbit cupcakes,Easter treat bags, adn the Cheetos Cheese Puffs. Thanks to
Treyton's Grandma Lana Ahrens for the M & M character treat containers.
Thanks to Jessica's family for the Honey Graham Crackers. Aelie's family
kindly sent Ritz Toasted Chips today.
This is the last year to send regular daily snacks, so thanks to all of you
who helped keep snack time alive and well for the students' stomachs!
PENCILS ARE RUNNING OUT!
Please check with your child concerning their pencil supplies. Many students
are borrowing from or bothering others for a pencil as their supply ran out
already. There are still 40 school days left, so pencils will be necessary
to complete the school year.
Happy spring,
Sally Aschim
