St. Jude Catholic School Computer User ContractProvided by the Archdiocese of Washington As we prepare our students for high school and beyond, we are increasingly aware of the importance of teaching them to use computers as a tool for written communication and a way to access and analyze information. The information available on the Internet serves as an invaluable instructional resource to our staff and students. Comcast Cable Communications provides our school with a free cable modem for Internet access. N2H2, an educational Internet filtering provider, constantly scans the Internet and protects our students from inappropriate sites. However, since we all aware that it is possible for students to unintentionally view information that may be objectionable, students using the Internet will be monitored during use by staff and parent volunteers. We urge you to discuss with your child the rules and guidelines for appropriate use of the Internet and proper behavior in the computer lab. Violations of these guidelines may result in disciplinary action.
Students in grades 3-8 will bring home a contract to be signed by their parents. This agreement will be binding through the school year. |
