RELIGION:
The children work in Chapter 8 (God Made All People). They will
learn how God made everyone and of His deep love for all people. I
ill also be reading stories from the Bible that will display how Jesus
loved everyone even those who sinned against Him and those who
suffered from rare diseases.
MATH:
The children are working in Chapter 3 (Positions) this week. They will learn how:
- To identify the positions inside and outside.
- To identify the positions in front and behind.
- To identify the positions left and right.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Your children will continue to learn these skills throughout this week:
- Identify and form the letters Dd, Ss, and Mm.
- Discriminate among initial letters d, s, and m.
- Use story details to talk about and understand a story.
- Classify and categorize items from the story.
- Identify shapes.
- Review numbers 1 and 10.
- Review high-frequency word s 'and, I, is, said'.
- Identify, blend, read, and write short 'a' and 'i' words.
- Read the story 'Is Sam Mad' at school and home.
HANDWRITING:
The children are continuing to learn how vertical lines (short and long),
slanted lines (right and left), horizontal lines and circles enables them
in the writing of the alphabet (upper and lowercase) letters.
ART:
To help celebrate Fall, the children made an 'Acorn person' using
construction paper leaves and acorns.
SOCIAL STUDIES:
The children will learn that Veteran's Day is a special time to honor
and thank the men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces
(Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard) to
preserve the freedom of our country.
