HERE'S  OUR  WEEK - JANUARY 4-8,2010

Happy New Year and welcome back to school. I hope that everyone enjoyed their Christmas vacation and will be blessed with a holy, healthy, and happy new year. Thank you to everyone for your generosity to me at Christmas. Special thanks to Mrs. Baldridge, Mrs. Nicholson, and Mrs. Nebot for our great Christmas party.

MONDAY - We're back to school! Today we honor St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. She is also our special saint model for this month. She is the first canonized saint to be born in North America and one of the patron saints of Catholic schools.
                 PE -Wear gym shoes
            Library - bring books; be prepared to test if you haven't met your December Independent Reading Goal or your AR goal for this quarter. If you have met December's goal, any tests you take count for the January goal.
Tonight, review Reading Unit 3 skills and strategies for the test on Wednesday. Review multiplication facts. We will begin timed quizzes on the facts this week. We'll begin new units in reading, spelling,and grammar, and new chapters in social studies and math. You may clean out the pockets of the portfolio, but remember that you are still responsible for knowing everything that has been taught, so you might want to keep the study guides.

TUESDAY - We honor St. John Neumann. Today is the last day to meet the December reading goal.
Tonight, be prepared for Reading Unit 3 test ; math- know multiplication facts; start learning the Apostles' Creed.

WEDNESDAY - Reading Unit 3 test
Tonight, study the Apostles' Creed, vocabulary in reading and social studies, multiplication and division facts; be ready for the grammar quiz on the verbs be, do, and have.

THURSDAY - PE -wear gym shoes
Grammar quiz on verbs be,do, and have;   
Tonight - study spelling lesson 16 words, math - continue to study facts; read THE TERRIBLE EEK again; review vocabulary.

FRIDAY - All School Mass
Spelling test -lesson 16; reading story quiz on THE TERRIBLE EEK.
