What should my child be reading at home?
Children are encouraged to read material that they can understand easily on their own. We use the 5 word rule - if students have trouble with more than 5 words on a page, they should choose new reading material.Back to Top
Is it ok for my child to read the same book repeatedly?
Yes! Although it may seem boring after the second or third read through, reading the same book will help build fluency and comprehension. Both of these are skills we work to develop during the second grade year.Back to Top
