MARCH 6TH IS NOW A HALF DAY. It is the make up day for the snow day earlier this year. In our classroom our learning is going to be focused on center based instruction. By teaching in this manner I am better able to meet students individual needs and academic abilities. By teaching in centers I am also able to give more one-on-one attention to the students as I either travel from group to group or have a small group of my own. The students and I are continually working and learning with the Smart Board and are ever thankful for that addition to our classroom. Some news to share on my end is that I have recently started taking graduate classes at UNCW in their Language and Literacy program. I am very excited to bring what I am learning in class into our classroom. The students have also expressed their excitement in knowing that I, like them, am a student, have homework, and have to go to class! I also will be traveling to South Africa this summer to learn about their education system, teaching techniques given limited supplies and oversized class rosters, and cultural/history. I am very excited to be given this opportunity. Cold and Flu season is here PLEASE if you could send in Clorox wipes it would be greatly appreciated. We have a snack everyday at 9:45. Please send in healthy snacks with your children. No soda or candy. I have some extra snacks for students that forget or are unable to bring in a snack of their own. Donations for class snack are always greatly appreciated. Please remember, NO PEANUTS. Thank you. If you are able to donate some prizes for our "Good Behavior Prize Drawer" that would be great!! Ideas might be pens, pencils, erasers, items from the Dollar store... Thank you.
