About The Class

I run a very hands on, developmental class. We do not spend time in our 
chairs, we spend time at centers and in learning groups! Children will not 
come home with a lot of worksheets, infact you should expect to see very 
few. I teach using integrated thematic units. Basically that means that I do 
my best to tie every single subject from reading to science together along 
with one common theme. We use a lot of journals and open ended assignments 
to help differenciate learning among students. I also put a high 
emphasis on respect and manners. We will be learning life skills and 
integrating the Second Step program throughout the curriculum.

Mission For The Class

Our mission is to love learning. My philosophy on reading is if a child 
loves to read - he will read. It's simple and it applies to every subject. I 
want every child to enjoy the process of discovery and learning. Although I 
don't want any child to feel burdened, I want them all to perform to the 
best of their ability and strive for more.
