Anderson / Mr. Fallon has been a PE teacher in New
Hanover County for the past 7 years.
AHS / He is the Head Athletic Trainer for the entire Eugene Ashley High
School athletic program. That means that when the athletes at Ashley
get injured, it is his job to evaluate the injury, and determine if the
athlete needs to see the doctor or just be treated in the training room.
His main job is to get the athletes healthy enough to play their sport again.
Personal Info. / He is married to Amy, and has a 6 year old son (Kyle) [he's
in Mrs. Theisen's Kindergarten class] and another son that is 3 years old
(Rhyen).
Joshua Rackley / I would like to introduce our newest UNCW teaching intern
Joshua Brett Rackley. This is a little blurb about Mr. Rackley; “I am the
oldest of two children, I have a sister named Tara, she is attending Cape
Fear Community College. My mother Denise is the head registrar at Sampson
Community College and my father owns his own business, a cabinet company he
has run for 21 years. I previously worked at an aftercare facility with K-5
students for 1½ years, and also students with disabilities for 6 months. I
enjoy all kinds of sports but am a die hard football fan; my favorite teams
are Florida State University and the Carolina Panthers. I have been dating my
girlfriend for six years and love to lift weights.”
Mr. Rackley will be with us until the beginning of May. He is very excited
to start teaching our students!
Anderson / The goal of physical education is to have our students
experience all different types of physical activities to spawn interest in
lifelong fitness, develop gross & fine motor skills, and experience some
individual & team competition.
AHS / To return the athletes to their sport as quickly and safely
as possible so they can enjoy their athletic experience to the
fullest!
He has now started a student athletic trainer program. In this program
high school students spend time with Mr. Fallon learning about the
athletic training profession. He has also developed a partnership with
UNCW to facilitate their National Athletic Trainers' Association approved
curriculum program, where UNCW sends a student intern to also learn
more about the occupation of athletic training, and to study the field of
athletic training under the head athletic trainer which is Mr.
Fallon.
