Welcome to KINDERGARTEN!
The up-coming school year will be a time of growth and excitement for your
child as they explore the relationship between our spoken language and the
written word.
Over the course of the next 10 months, you will enjoy watching your child
grow, meet new friends, gain independence, and begin their, “big school”
career.
At the end of kindergarten your child will be...
•Reading books with repetitive sentence structure, and strong picture support.
•Writing 2 or 3 sentences using a mixture of invented spelling and core words.
•Drawing detailed pictures to support their writing which include a detailed
setting and characters.
•Correctly writing all numbers from 0 - 30.
•Adding and subtracting 1-digit numbers.
•Questioning the world around them.
•Exploring the relationships between all living things (big and small).
•Part of a classroom community filled with laughter and love!
My mission... is for each child to feel successful in all that they do. I
foster a hands-on, creative learning environment for all students
to develop and grow. Our literacy rich classroom encourages students to
develop the skills they need to begin reading, and writing. By providing a
rich and safe learning environment, each child can be successful in
Kindergarten!
